• Design Exceeds OE – ZOOM Performance Cam Gears are CNC-machined to more exacting tolerances than original gears. The tooth edges are beveled which will increase timing belt life. The inner ring is designed for strength, function and precision. Stainless steel studs are threaded through the backside of the outer gear. The inner gear is then fastened with stainless steel nuts and lock washers. This enables the use of a proper amount of torque when tightening the fasteners, without the risk of damaging the threads.

• Lightweight – ZOOM adjustable cam gears are lightweight and made from the highest quality 6061 T6 aluminum. Although making them “lightweight” was not the primary goal, a reduction in rotational mass is a collateral benefit which can increase the performance of an engine.

• Adjustable – This is where true performance / horsepower gains can be achieved. The whole point of cam gears, specifically adjustable cam gears, is to allow the dialing in of the camshaft to its optimal timing position. Even if the vehicle is bone stock, a benefit can be attained with adjustable cam gears, by allowing adjustment of the conservative factory settings for increased power and drivability. The more highly modified an engine is....the bigger the benefit will be. Cam timing often needs to be done in order to match other engine modifications. Adjustable cam gears also give the user the ability to shift their peak power throughout the RPM range. In general, advancing timing for both intake and exhaust will increase low end power and decrease high end power, while retarding timing for both will shift the power to the top end. ZOOM Cam Gears provide twelve degrees (to advance or retard timing) of laser etched adjustments so that one can be assured of proper tuning.

• Color Choices – ZOOM Cam Gears are offered in three colors: red, blue and silver. For example, one can use identical colors for both gears in a DOHC application, or mix the colors to provide a “custom” look in the engine bay.

• More Horsepower - Dyno tests have shown up to an 8 HP increase just from dialing in the adjustable cam gears. Fine tuning engine cam timing with adjustable cam gears will see the biggest gains with the use of a Chassis Dyno; however, good results can also be attained thru trial & error.
